What Is Actually On The Line?
Itauma is younger, but looks a bit more imposing as the two fighters faced off. His head and neck are noticeably bigger and the belief is that he'll have the superior hand speed and power. Itauma, 21, is bidding to become the youngest heavyweight champion since Mike Tyson. If Hrgovic can pull the upset or at the very least give the young, steam-rolling heavyweight a good fight, he'll help his stock. In any case, everyone is expecting a coronation and the official beginning of the Itauma era.
The IBF belt is vacant. Oleksandr Usyk gave it up in June, and Frank Sanchez took a step-aside payment that makes him the winner's likely mandatory.
