Artificial intelligence is increasingly being used to help Americans prepare their taxes, but a significant trust gap remains between the technology's capabilities and taxpayers' willingness to rely on it for such high-stakes financial decisions.

Surveys show that while nearly 40% of taxpayers have experimented with AI tax tools, only 12% say they fully trust the results without human verification.
